It’s not a one-time decision… it’s a muscle you have to work on every single day. Choosing self-awareness. Choosing discipline. Choosing to heal. Choosing to grow even when it’s uncomfortable.
And honestly? It gets even harder when your integrity is called into question, especially when you’re someone who genuinely tries to lead with a high moral compass, kindness and integrity. Sometimes the actions of other people can make you question yourself, your worth, or even who you are.
But that’s when you have to stop and ask yourself: Why am I allowing someone else to control the narrative? Why am I giving someone else the power to define me? Why am I seeking validation from people who don’t even know my heart or truly see me?
At the end of the day, you know who you are.
And also… you will have setbacks. We all do. You will have moments where you react emotionally, moments where you fall short, moments where old wounds or insecurities surface. That does not define you, and your setback is not your identity.
It’s also just as important to have trusted people around you that you can talk to in those moments. People who can speak life into you, hold you accountable, and remind you who you are when your mind gets loud. Because being human means we are all going to have moments.
What matters most is self-awareness. Taking a step back and asking yourself: Why did I react that way? What triggered me? What can I learn from this? How do I move forward better?
Because at the end of the day, that’s growth, that vulnerability and that is 10x more authentic than perfection. You will mess up, and that’s how we grow.
And if you’re currently working on yourself, your self-love, your confidence, your boundaries, your need for outside validation…just know you are not alone in that journey.
Working on yourself may be one of the hardest things you ever do… but it’s also one of the most life-changing.
