You’re not just a mom.

You’re a millennial MILF. Act like it.

And before anyone gets offended by that word… I’m mostly talking about the ENERGY.

Because somewhere between having kids, packing lunches, wiping butts, answering approximately 4,000 questions a day, and keeping an entire household functioning, it can become really easy to forget that you’re still you.

The woman who existed before motherhood.

The woman with dreams, opinions, goals, style, confidence, ambition, and a personality outside of what everyone else needs from her.

Motherhood is one of the greatest parts of my life, but it is not my entire identity.

I still want to feel good in my body.

I still want to get dressed and feel hot.

I still want to take care of my skin.

I still want to go on dates with my husband.

I still want to build my business.

I still want to travel, laugh until my stomach hurts, listen to loud music, buy the outfit, and do things simply because they make me happy.

And I think there’s something really powerful about giving yourself permission to be all of those versions of yourself at the same time.

You can be a mom and a woman who prioritizes herself.

You can love your kids more than anything and still want five minutes alone.

You can be exhausted and still want to feel beautiful.

You can be in your thirties, have kids, have responsibilities, and still feel sexy, confident, fun, and completely yourself.

You do not have to disappear just because you became a mom.

If anything, I think this season of life is an invitation to become even MORE of yourself.

So yes… take the shower.

Put on the outfit.

Do your skincare.

Book the dinner.

Take the trip.

Buy the shoes.

Work toward the goal.

Take the selfie.

Flirt with your husband.

And for the love of God, stop waiting for permission to feel like that girl again.

Because she never actually left.

She just got really freaking busy.

You’re not just a mom, babe.

Act like it.
